Gernita Johnson is a dedicated community advocate and proud candidate for Stockbridge City Council District 1.
A lifelong resident of Stockbridge, Gernita is deeply committed to fostering a vibrant, inclusive, and forward-thinking city.
As a devoted wife and mother of two, Gernita understands the importance of creating a safe and prosperous environment for families. Her passion for public service is rooted in her belief that every resident deserves a voice in shaping the future of their community.
Gernita’s platform focuses on enhancing public safety, promoting economic development, develop better infrastructure, and ensuring transparent governance. She aims to collaborate with local businesses, community leaders, and residents to drive initiatives that will improve the quality of life in District 1 and beyond.
With a strong commitment to integrity and accountability, Gernita Johnson is ready to bring positive change to Stockbridge. She invites all constituents to join her in building a stronger, more united community.
Gernita is married to John Johnson and have two children Braxton, Axel and stepchild Anecia.
Gernita is a member of Mt Gilead/Mt Harmon Church of God Holiness.
Gernita is a two-time graduate of Historically Black College Universities (HBCU) where she holds a Bachelor of Arts from Paine College and Master of Social Work from Clark Atlanta University.
Gernita is also an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
Gernita has worked as a political consultant in various campaigns in Clayton and Henry Counties.
